Happy New Year...hello 2015!

Happy New Year…hello 2015! I want to thank y'all for the support & encouragement you've given me this last year; your words have helped me keep it real. The Big V (vulnerability) has been my intent since the inception of this page although it was not my idea to do so. Many of you know the story of God prompting me to open a Facebook page & post the things He put on my heart, but I thought it was a joke from God or a lie from the enemy, since I had no interest in Facebook nor had I ever "written" anything other than a thesis in grad school 27 years earlier. At the time I was running my full-time practice, which I thoroughly enjoyed & my life was content & mostly predictable. I had no desire to do anything else until God confronted the authenticity of my Christian walk. That conversation challenged every neuron in my body & I wrote one of my first posts, "Jesus drives really fast…buckle up Baby!"

Anyway, that was three years ago & here I am today! This journey has been one of hardest things I've ever done in my life; it's required me to look at parts of myself I never wanted to talk about, expose fears, address false confidence, uproot pride, move forward & be obedient with seemingly little to no reward in the natural & the most painful of all...confronting my need for approval & validation from others. But I wouldn't trade any of these hard experiences; each one has taught me how to submit to God's plan, rely on His sufficiency & have hope in hopeless situations. His truth has set me free; freedom is the promise of God's love when we do life His way! If God had not challenged me, I probably could've continued on with my life & appeared to be "successful" by worldly standards & I probably would've lived what many consider to be a good life, but oh how I would've missed the abundant life God promises!

And this is the passion God has put in my heart…to challenge others to embrace the abundant life He promises & to walk out the authentic life He divinely designed us for! So I will continue to write as long as He lets me & continue to talk about the Big V in my life as He needs me to. Thank you for being real with me & you can count on me being real with you! I hope you will continue on this journey with me because there's never a dull moment when we're following God!
