The Christian Trap...God put this on my heart
today. We encounter pain in this life for numerous reasons; we
know...pain is pain regardless of how it came upon us. The Christian
Trap is when we hold onto our pain for fear of being rejected by others.
This can be for numerous reasons but here are a few-we do not want to
look inadequate because we have not overcome the pain, fearful of being
judged for not properly handling a
situation, or because the pain is related to our former unsaved
lifestyle & we think we deserve what we're experiencing. So many
smile & move forward-waiting for the pain to leave. Reality-pain
does not go away...it just goes deeper. Meanwhile, satan comes in like a
thief to steal, kill, & destroy our minds-viciously making
accusations. We must renew our minds with God's Word & share our
pain with others so they can help remind us. Reality-issues do not go
away...until we address them. We have to reach out to other Christian
professionals & trained lay persons who are spirit filled and can
help guide us in this process. Reality-sometimes Christians will treat
you poorly; it's sad but true. You must decide if your wellness is more
important than your offense...you know it is. Finally, when we bring our
pain into the light...it loses its power & all the darkness that
was hiding it. God has good plans for you friend-it's His promise. Step
out of the Christian Trap...there's help waiting for you. 10/2012CIFL-LMM
