Be inspired by...but don't compare to. God equips each of us with our own set of talents and gifts; we're to do our best and maximize what He gives us. Each person is given a different amount of talents, some get more-others get less; the number doesn't indicate our value or level of success by God. Our response to what's been given is the value and success indicator. God measures each person based on their individual plan-not how they compare individually to the group. Don't undermine your success by comparing your talents to that of others. We're given talents that match the plan God has for our life-your best is evaluated by how you use what you have...not how another uses what they have. Be inspired by others...what they've overcome, how they manage a business, lead and parent their family, style in clothing, career path and so on. But don't compare yourself to others...you place yourself in a superior or inferior position and both skew your authenticity. Each person is to compare their ability against their own ability-then they can take pride in what they've accomplished. God holds you responsible for what He calls you to...not what He's called another person to do. Comparing puts you in a contest that you're guaranteed to lose; resulting in feelings of inferiority, superiority that lead to jealousy and resentment. It's not what you have...it's how you use what you have. If you try to be somebody else-you're guaranteed frustration and bitterness. Be free-be you...where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom! (Gal 6:3-5, Lk 19:12-28, Cor 3:17) 11/20/12CIFL-LMM
Shining God's truth across the world (Mt 5:16). When we lay down who we think we should be...we make room to become who God says we can be-His masterpiece to do the good works He planned long ago (Eph 2:10).
