Setbacks in life...overcoming with these three truths

Setbacks in life...you're back in a place you swore you'd never be again. Disappointment slaps you- failure overwhelms you. You worked hard to leave a place you despised, but here you are...again. You've climbed out of this same pit many times-but this time...you're done. You're embarrassed, hopeless and don't understand what's wrong with you. Shame and condemnation begin to flood you. You must know three truths about where you are right now. First, your willpower doesn't work-grace does. You can't deliver yourself from this...only Jesus can. Willpower motivates you to start the race, but it's Jesus power that sustains you-allowing you to complete the race. Each morning seek Jesus instead of seeking to overcome-nothing is overcome unless it's done via Jesus (Mt 6:33). Thank Jesus in the morning and throughout the day for the strength He will provide to you (Phil 4:13). Don't entertain thoughts that if you try harder, you can sustain...it's a setup for a setback. It's in your weakness that God's power is made perfect (2 Cor 12:9). Second, renew your mind. Profess and believe you're delivered...even when you see no indication of deliverance. God calls things that be not-as though they are (Rom 4:17). Agree with God, who He says you are...not what you feel you are (Eph 2:10). God never condemns you-He doesn't want you to either; condemnation guarantees failure. Third, consistently seek Christ and have faith constantly (Mk 11:22). God's truth must be applied to every area of your life- completely surrender all of you to Him...holding nothing back (Pr 3:5-6). Ask Jesus to examine, correct and enable you, because you can't...but He can & will. God will meet you where you are...love Him with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind (Mt 22:37). Do these three things daily & look forward to the peace God will provide to you (Phil 4:7). Seek the Lord-He will answer you; those who look to Him are radiant, there faces are never covered with shame (Ps 34:4-5). He has good plans for you. Will you let Him be your anchor of hope (Jer 29:11, Heb 6:19)? 7/21/13CIFL-LMM
