Got some giants you need to kill???

I'm a logical person...and my logic says I will sink if I try to navigate through life on my own. I'm so thankful that Jesus lives inside of me because life is hard and unfair; people cheat, lie, steal, and bad things happen to good people. I can't escape these realities but I can choose to walk with Jesus and I do! He's already overcome anything I'm facing. In John 16:33, Jesus said, "I have told you these things so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulations and trials and distress and frustrations; but be of good cheer [take courage, be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.] That's a promise from Jesus and I hold onto to it every day! Write this down somewhere friend...the world has been deprived of the power to harm us...you must choose to believe it or the promise will not help you. A promise is only as powerful to the one who chooses to believe it...His words do not mean we will live a perfect life without trials or tribulations. Jesus spells this out clearly-so don't panic when tribulation comes on you because it will continually. You will overcome...if you believe in and rely on the One Who has overcome-He lives in you!

Remember when Joshua, Caleb and 10 other spies went into the Promise Land to assess the condition in order to bring a report back? Joshua and Caleb said they could take the giants, the other 10 said no way-the giants would overtake them! Joshua and Caleb didn't deny the reality of what they were up against...they believed the reality of God's Word! God said He would be with them. They didn't try to figure out how God would be with them, they choose to believe He would be with them. Caleb said in Numbers 13:30, "Let us go at once and possess it, we are well able to conquer it!" The other ten spies, began to reason the dilemma, "God promised we'll have everything we need, but there are giants that could crush our heads...hmmm, so what do we do?"   They preferred their reasoning over God's instructions based on their ability to understand how they could carry out what was asked of them. The situation Joshua, Caleb and the spies faced is no different than what we do today.

Most of what we face is too much for us...job losses, rebellious teens, broken relationships, single parenting, managing family and work, and carrying out impossible dreams! God never asks us to figure out things that He asks of us...He wants to know if we will be the vessel for Him to work through? Choose to believe God-no one can believe for you, that's why it's called a personal relationship. When you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, the Spirit of God came to live in you. Accept this reality-God's equipped you with His Spirit, life is hard, but Jesus is Lord and He's overcome the world! Go out and face your giant tomorrow...Jesus has deprived it of the power to harm you and has conquered it for you!
