Setbacks
in life... you're back in a place you swore you'd never be again.
You're disgusted with yourself & feel like a failure. You worked
hard to leave this place, but here you are again! You've climbed out of
this pit many times-this time you're done. You feel embarrassed &
hopeless-you don't understand what's wrong with you. Shame &
condemnation flood you.
Listen closely, God will restore you-embrace these 3 truths in His Word:
1) Apart from Jesus you can do nothing (Jn 15:5); your willpower doesn't work, but His grace does. You can't deliver yourself-but Jesus can. Your willpower motivates you to begin but it's the love of Jesus that sustains you-allowing you to overcome! Submit your will to His power-His strength is your source (2 Cor 12:9). Thank Him for giving you what you need (Phil 4:13). Don't try harder...seek His love more-when you're weak you're strong (2 Cor 12:10).
2) Renew your mind with God's Word…His truth sets you free (Rom 12:2, Jn 8:32). Pull down & throw out every through that opposes God's Word-He never condemns you (Phil 3:9). Agree with who He says you are & let His love lift you up & out of the pit you're in (Isa 40:31). You're purposed to do the works He planned long ago (Eph 2:10)!
3) Seek God first & have faith constantly (Mt 6:33, Mk 11:22). God's truth must be applied to "every" area of your life-what you bring in the light loses its power! Trust the Lord with all your heart-He makes a way for you (Pr 3:5-6). Ask for wisdom; God gives it generously-without finding fault (Jas 1:5). Put your hope in Him ( Heb 6:19)!
