If I could sing, I'd sing Harper Valley PTA. I believe it depicts the mean spirited Pharisees of every era, the self appointed watch dogs who monitor the motives & behavior of others... while ignoring the plank in their own eyes.Jesus usually ignored the Pharisees, then sometimes....He socked it to them! “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye & pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there's a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye & then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye (Mt :7:3-5)."
Sometimes... you've got to sock it to those mean spirited people too!
