Correction is to make you right...not wrong

Correction's purpose is to make you right...not wrong. To learn, you must love discipline, it is stupid to hate correction (Pr12:1 NLT). Let Jesus flood your heart with His love...binding up and healing old wounds by someone who harshly corrected you or had unrealistic expectations of you (Isa 61:1-2, Rev 3:20). You will be defensive to most correction until you allow Jesus to bind up these old hurts. You want to be approved and valued-especially by those you love, but your defensiveness keeps a barrier between you and everyone and everything you care about. With loved ones, it's an ongoing ugly argument. They try to talk to you, but you don't listen to a word; all you hear is them telling you that you are wrong. They walk away feeling defeated...and more distant from you-exactly what you don't want. You feel overlooked by the world; they won't recognize your talent and you're hurt, but you quickly cover that with anger because you already hurt enough. But you stuff this anger, convincing yourself there is something wrong with them. Listen closely, there's nothing wrong with you...but until you allow Jesus to flush all the old hurts out of your heart and replace the negative voices in your mind with His voice of truth...you will blame the world for something only you can change. Talk with Jesus, He will help you; then commit to understanding yourself by talking with trusted godly counsel and read bible based information. Being made right through correction is a life long process and no one is exempt. Let the love of Jesus flood you...and see yourself as He sees you...perfect and made in His likeness. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom (2 Cor 3:17). Blessings friend! 11/7/12-LMM
