Get real & get connected...when we get real about
what we are feeling...we can get real about who we are & connect
with others. We often deny or hide what we are feeling for fear of
looking un-Christian; so we speak Christian-ese to give the right
answer-this only leads to a disconnect & denial of what's really
happening on the inside of our heart. We will even dismiss &
deny our feelings with God & speak Christian-ese with Him! Get real
with God-He can handle it. When I have ugly thoughts about someone, I'll
say to God, "Father, I don't want to feel this way toward this person,
but I do. What's going on in me that's stirring this up (Ps139:23-24)?"
Often, we will ask for forgiveness from God or another person, but have
no revelation of why we did what we did...the acknowledgement is
necessary, but without understanding, you will repeat the
behavior...because the root of the behavior is still in you. We must
have revelation-God gives revelation freely. Until the root of the
behavior is dealt with...the behavior continues to return. Get real with
God-it is the catalyst necessary to work through your feelings. He can
handle your feelings & guide you. Where the Spirit of the Lord is,
there is freedom (2Co3:17). Next, share with a trusted friend. This
vulnerability of exposure-your raw self...allows you to say, "this is
the real me." The power comes when you experience the other person being
totally accepting of...all of you. You discover, you're loved &
valued, even in the middle of your imperfections. This practice of
knowing you don't have to be perfect is critical for overcoming
adversity in daily living-we say we know this, yet we need to remind one
another. Anything we try to deny or hide...will inevitably control us.
My friends, I pray you will experience the freedom our Father offers to
each of us...to become the you He created & called you to be.
Blessings my friend. 9/26/12CIFL-LMM
