Intimacy can't be manufactured or microwaved...it's developed through personal relationships of sharing our heart, being honest about who we are & spending time together. Our model for intimacy is God-our relationship with Him is revealed in our interactions with others. Do you feel misunderstood or disconnected? Do you have secrets you will take to your grave for fear others would not accept you? Do you only show the parts of you, for fear the other parts of you would be rejected? Go to your only source for answers first-asking God for help. He's waiting to show you love. His love is like electricity thrusting power in & through every cell in your body...giving you life, direction, & purpose. This is available to anyone... who will "completely surrender" their will to Him. Have you completely surrendered to Him? Making His Will, your will? If you've agreed to most-you're not completely surrendered & that will show up in your relationships. If you're holding back from God, you will hold back from others-it's a fact. You will never experience the fullness & completeness Christ wants to offer you...until you "completely surrender." The irony, is you think/feel you're in control by "mostly surrendering" but God's freedom & your control won't blend-another fact. 2 Corinthians 3:17 says, where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom; experiencing this freedom is intimacy with Him. Then He [thoroughly] opened up their minds to understand the Scriptures (Luke24:45). Let the Holy Spirit open your mind to understand that you were designed to connect intimately, deeply, being vulnerable, & walking with others to carry out God's plans for your life. Get quiet & listen-intimacy is developed; growing deeper & richer with time. The Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in my place, to represent Me & act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to you remembrance everything I have told you (John14:26).
